The Oscars 2014 Red Carpet Fashion

Last night, celebrities were front and center on the red carpet for the 86th Academy Awards live at the Dolby Theatre.

Let's take a look at the events best and worst dressed.
*****
Best Dressed

"American Hustle" Best Actress nominee Amy Adams delights in a dark blue Gucci Premiere gown.

Best Actress winner for "Blue Jasmine" Cate Blanchett in a Armani Prive gown that sparkles with Swarovski Crystals.

Channing Tatum dons a black tux while wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum stuns in Reem Acra.

Best Supporting Actor for "American Hustle" Bradley Cooper in Tom Ford.

2004 Oscar Lead Actress winner Charlize Theron was absolutely breathtaking in Christian Dior.

Benedict Cumberbatch of "12 Years a Slave" in a sleek dark tux.

Best Supporting Actress for "American Hustle" nominee Jennifer Lawrence looked gorgeous in her red Christian Dior gown.

"Thor" actor Chris Hemsworth looks sexy in his burgundy David August tuxedo and Fred Leighton studs.

Looking simply ravishing, Kate Hudson dons a plunging Atelier Versace gown.

Best Supporting Actor winner for "Dallas Buyer's Club" Jared Leto wore an ivory suit jacket.

Lupita Nyong'o looked like Cinderalla in her shimmering baby blue Prada Gown.

Best Actor winner Matthew McConaughey was dashing in Dolce & Gabbana while wife Camila Alves was simply gorgeous in a pink Gabriela Cadena gown.

Presenter Naomi Watts looked angelic in Calvin Klein.

"Wolf of Wall Street" Best Actor nominee Leonardo Di Caprio brought color to the red carpet in his custom royal blue Dior tuxedo.

Sandra Bullock, nominated for Best Actress for "Gravity" looked incredibly glamorous in her dark blue, figure flattering Alexandra McQueen gown.

"12 Years a Slave" producer/actor Brad Pitt kept it simple and classic in a black tux.

Kerry Washington absolutely glowed in her Jason Wu gown and Jennifer Meyer jewels.

Jennifer Garner's Oscar de la Renta gown was absolutely radiant.

Lady Gaga's art deco, body hugging Versace gown shines on the red carpet.

Penelope Cruz was a vision of loveliness in her pink Giambattista Valli gown.

Actress Viola Davis looked glamorous in her emerald green Escada gown. Simply beautiful!

*****
Worst Dressed

Angelina Jolie's silver embroidered Elie Saab haute couture dress shimmered on the red carpet, but I thought it made her look matronly.

Margot Robbie is that you?!

The actress was unrecognizable on the red carpet donning darker locks for her latest movie, "Z for Zachariah" and with the dark beaded Gucci gown, she failed to duplicate her stunning arrival at the 2014 Golden Globes.

From the dark hair, dark lips, and dark gown, this ensemble completely washes her out and makes her look like anything, but a goddess.

Best Actress nominee for "August: Osage County" Meryl Streep's black and white Lavin gown was age-appropriate and her make-up was flawless, but her ensemble was just...eh.

A little more glamour would've been nice.

From the sheer paneling, peek-a-boo waistline, and thigh high slit, I just wasn't feeling presenter Anna Kendrick's J. Mendel gown.

Honestly, presenter Anne Hathway's black Gucci gown reminds me of her pink Valentino dress in 2013, but with more bedazzle.

For someone known as a fashionista with stunning past red carpet arrivals, I had expected more from the Oscar winner.

After Emma Watson's jaw-dropping red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globes, I was really excited for her Oscars arrival.

And while her black Vera Wang gown was Academy Award worthy, I thought it was a little safe. Would've loved to have seen her making a splash in another vibrant colored ensemble.

Nude was definitely the color of the evening at last night's Oscars and while I liked Jessica Biel's metallic Chanel couture gown and Tiffany accessories, I thought it was lackluster.

Maybe it was because husband Justin Timberlake was too busy touring to be her arm candy.

Julia Robert, Best Supporting Actress nominee for "August: Osage County" wore a Givenchy black and lace gown that was simply okay.

Okay, Liza Minelli's blue Halston ensemble and coordinating blue hair is giving me well...the blues.

The unflattering fabric does nothing for her petite figure. It just hangs there and looks better suited dressing a home window rather than the legendary singer/actress. Add to that, the sheer fabric is very unforgiving and clearly shows Liza's upper half lacks of support.

There's no reason why the 1973 Best Actress Oscar winner should look like a hot mess on the red carpet.

Olivia Wilde's black turtle neck Valentino gown looks lovely, but fails to thrill me.

Maybe I was spoiled by her 2014 Golden Globes red carpet arrival, but with so many amazing maternity gowns out there why settle for plain and boring when you can look fabulous.

Pharrell, who's song "Happy" from "Despicable Me 2" was nominated for Best Original Song, was a red carpet stand-out in a Lanvin short suit.

I'm aware the weather forecast called for rain in state of California, but was the singer/producer expecting a flood or did he just want to show off his tattoos?

Whatever the reason, shorts of any kind doesn't belong at the Oscars.

Zac Efron looked like a sharped-dressed man in his sleek dark suit. That was until
I saw the length of his pants. Regardless of how he poses, he shouldn't be sporting high waters at all. Better find yourself a new tailor, Zac!
