It was truly a memorable event and a night the actress will never forget. Here are three reasons why...
1. Anne won an award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Miserable.
2. She showed up wearing a blush pink Prada gown where her nipples were the center of attention.
(Amanda Seyfried, Valentino dress, Anne in Prada)
3. Valentino vs. Prada.
That's the dilemma Anne had to face when deciding on what to wear to the
85th Academy Awards. As a nominee and a well-known fashionista, all eyes were anxiously awaiting her red carpet arrival when word spread that she would be wearing Valentino.
However she showed up wearing the infamous Prada bearing-nipples gown, the speculation began to spread like wildfire as to why Anne had done a switcheroo at the very last minute.
Her explanation was that another actress, Amanda Seyfried and fellow co-star in Les Miserable's, Alexander McQueen gown strikingly resembled the one she had originally chosen and didn't want there to be any confusion.
Okay, I can see why wearing similar gowns on a major red carpet event could be a problem, but instead of opting to go with another designer, why didn't she just choose another Valentino dress?
Surely, her close friend and fashion designer Valentino (who by the way, designed her wedding gown) had plenty more beautiful dresses at her disposal to choose from.
Either way, Anne Hathaway issued a formal apology explaining her decision. So do you think all will be forgiven between her and Valentino? Which dress did you like better?
