Bongolicious entrance into the fashion world originates from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in an area of East Africa known locally as ‘Bongo’. From early beginnings associated with the Miss Tanzania Beauty Pageant, company Founder and Creative Director Mange Kimambi worked to find, promote and help mold young women into pageant-ready contestants.
Forged in that work came an appreciation for keeping fashion practical to wear while maintaining a bold and empowering style to stand out from others.
