But in a recent issue of People Magazine, the TV icon shared that she's been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer called, leptomeningeal carcinomatosis.
Valerie was busy promoting her new memoir in January titled, I, Rhoda when she fell ill and later discovered the devastating news.
With less than three months to live, Valerie Harper has been sharing her story with the media and doing so with plenty of grace and dignity.
"I don't think of dying." she told the magazine. "I think of being here now."
